First Day ∙ Short film
Back to school is usually told as a story of new beginnings. Fresh supplies, new shoes, a clean slate. First Day looks at it from the other side of the kitchen counter. Before the backpack goes on and the door closes, there's a parent up early, moving through a choreography every parent knows by heart. The alarm before the alarm. A lunch packed with a little more care than usual. A small shirt pressed flat while the house is still asleep.
Set within a single morning in a home, the film lingers on the quiet rituals that hold a family together, the ordinary moments we rarely stop to notice and never think to hold onto. Just another morning. Until it isn't.
